8 DIY Facial Masks and Scrubs Part 1
Who doesn't love a trip to the spa? The soothing smells and tranquil sounds, not to mention the glowing skin. But no worries if a spa trip isn't in your immediate future. You can experience both the relaxation and the rejuvenated skin at home with these easy DIY facial scrub and mask recipes guaranteed to make your face sigh with relief.
Invigorating Peppermint Facial Scrub (Oily Skin)
• ¼ cup rolled oats
• 1 tablespoon cup cornmeal
• 1 tablespoon dried peppermint
Grind all ingredients in a blender, grinder, or food processor until reduced to a fine powder. Mix with a small amount of water and massage scrub over damp face. Rinse thoroughly.
Pore Tightening Egg White Mask
Egg whites have various benefits. When you apply natural ingredients to your face such as an egg white, it shrinks the large pores where bacteria can grow. Egg whites help skin oily and prevent pimples and cysts, reducing the acne on your face
• 1 egg white
• 1 teaspoon lemon juice
Whip egg white until stiff, then fold in lemon. Apply to face, avoiding eyes and lips. Allow to dry for 15 minutes. Remove with washcloth and warm water.
Skin Brightening Rice Scrub
Brown rice is rich in nutrients. It contains a good amount of Vitamin B6, Vitamin K, and Vitamin E. Apart from this, there is also a special element in this rice which is called Pitera. Pitera is a type of liquid, which is made up of amino acids, minerals, organic acids, and vitamins. These ingredients are known to reduce skin wrinkles, dark spots and bring a glow to the skin.
• 1 egg white
• 2 tablespoons brown rice
• 4 unsalted almonds
Use a blender, grinder, or food processor to grind brown rice and almonds to a fine powder. Whip in egg white. Massage onto face with small, circular motions. Rinse and pat dry.
Soothing Aloe Sugar Scrub and Mask
Aloe Vera gel has vitamin C and E, beta-carotene in abundance. Therefore, it has anti-aging properties. It also contains antimicrobial properties and is anti-inflammatory. It also helps to eradicate skin blemishes and diminish age lines. Additionally, it helps to increase the production of collagen in the body and skin elasticity.
• 2 tablespoons aloe vera gel
• 1 teaspoon superfine sugar
Mix ingredients together. Apply to face as you would a facial scrub, but allow to sit for 5-10 minutes before rinsing.
