Corporate Makeup For Conferences

I primarily work in TV and advertising but I also work with corporate events. Nashville is one of biggest conference cities in the country. This has given me the chance to work some of largest companies in America for conferences, corporate interviews , testimonials and headshots. I recently worked with PBS for their conference here in Nashville. While in the makeup room the CEO and executives mentioned how much they loved their makeup this year and how its often hard to find someone who gets corporate makeup. This is also the reason they brought one of their makeup artists from LA with them. This is not the first time I have heard this statement. It is also the reason I have often traveled with executives for their conferences.

The makeup for a corporate conference or event should enhance your features not hide who you are. It shouldn’t be distracting; remember, you want people to be listening to what you’re saying without being mesmerized by your hot pink lip gloss. Your look should be polished yet approachable. Here are few tips when it comes to corporate makeup.

Flawless skin is always a must

Flawless skin and an even complexion are essential for any makeup look, no matter the occasion. Start your makeup look by hydrating the skin with moisturizer. Use a primer to help even out any texture issues.

Brows

Lightly fill in your brows and it will serve as a framework for the rest of your face.  Be sure to remain light handed while applying the brow powder or pencil and brush the brows up and outward to distribute the product evenly. The key here is to enhance the shape of the brow. Anything too dark or dramatic will detract from your natural beauty.

Use Mascara

Since eyes are the proverbial “windows to your soul”, a lot of your beauty enhancements can be handled here. Having said that, mascara is a must.  Mascara brightens your eye area by bringing your lashes to life.

Use a Warm Blush

Of all the beauty products, most women are apprehensive of blush. However, blush simply helps to lift the cheeks and adds a subtle glow to the face. Choose colors that add warmth to your skin tone; avoid bright pink or red hues that can be shocking in photos or on stage.

Ditch the Glitter

Any glitter at on camera is a big no-no, whether it’s a frosty lip, a glitter eye shadow or highlighter! Under lights alot of times it is too reflective and distracting.

Any glitter at work is a big no-no, whether it’s a frosty lip, a glitter eyeshadow or highlighter!

Keep the Lighting in Mind

Apply your makeup in great lighting. If studio lighting is not available look for natural light.
