Glamour Magazine- American Women Now

For the Sept issue Glamour magazine wanted to feature 50 ambitious, outspoken and unstoppable women. Women who are changing the idea of what it is like to be a female in 2016.

I was honored to work with the powerhouse Brittany Howard of the Alabama Shakes. If you have been hiding under a rock and have not heard of the Alabama Shakes. They won three Grammy's last year. Their album Sound and Color was simply amazing. When I used to work at the Saks Off Fifth photo studio their album was one of the only ones we could all agree on.

The day of the shoot just so happened to also be the hottest day of the summer. For me that means that I need to make the makeup fresh and light. I also prep the skin a little longer. I usually include a few of my secret weapons to help keep sweat to a minimum. I had a very small window that day for hair and makeup. So I hired one of my favorite hair assistants Jessica Watkins of Shearluxe salon. Because I was informed earlier that Brittany needed a haircut.
