Help My Yelp!

These days online reviews can make or break a restaurant - and in the new series HELP MY YELP, chef and restaurant consultant Monti Carlo is on a mission to help struggling food businesses improve their food and service. Help My Yelp premiered on Food Network April 10 at 10/9c.

In each episode, elite Yelpers secretly visit restaurants and give their honest feedback to restaurant owners and Monti. Undercover cameras are also hidden around each restaurant to find out exactly what’s happening in the kitchen and at the tables. Monti believes criticism can be a tool you use to make your product the best there is. I’d rather someone tell me where I’m falling short and give me the opportunity to fix it rather than go to my competitor on the permanent.

I worked with the Food Network crew on all of the Atlanta episodes. My favorite part of working with the show was getting to know the host Monti Carlo. Especially in the city where she used to be a radio show host and her mom owned a Caribbean restaurant. 5am call times are that bad when the host you are working with starts each day with a dance party. I'm a foodie so working on show that was all about food for a month was my dream job.

Each day makeup and hair had to hold up against hot lights and kitchens with minimal touchups. My favorite long lasting products from this shoot are:

Becca Evermat Poreless Primer
