Smule Presents Cassandra Coleman
Two months ago I worked with the music app Smule. Smule is a music social networking app that lets you collaborate and create music with singers all over the world. Recently they introduced Smule Presents, a program that highlights talented Sing users through a professionally created music video. I worked on the second Smule Presents music video, starring Cassandra Coleman covering an acoustic version of “Adore” shot here in Nashville. The director Alyce Tzue wanted to capture Cassandra’s pure, crystal clear vocals with hazy, surreal imagery that seems to come straight out of a daydream. We shot the video at an old Victorian house and also acquired permission to shoot at Cheekwood Botanical Garden and Museum of Art.
But just our luck the first day of shooting was during the ice storm we had in January. While it made getting to set that day a little difficult . It blanketed the town, turning it into a frozen wonderland. Which gave us the perfect setting for the video.
As part of the Smule Presents program, they send a studio crew out to each chosen performer and film a music video where they live! It can be anywhere in the world. If you feel like you or someone you know would be a perfect fit, make a Smule Studio nomination here
